Respite Program

Respite services are an important part of pediatric care and provide an essential support system for families caring for children with complex medical needs. With our respite care & overnight services, our goal is to ensure that children receive consistent, high-quality care over the long term.

By providing respite services, CHONC can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families living with chronic illnesses and disabilities.

 

Subacute Respite & Overnight Services

CHONC Pediatric Hospital and Saratoga Pediatric Subacute provides respite care services to San Jose and surrounding Bay Area families, caregivers, and communities. To begin the process, one must apply for coverage through a nearby regional center. Respite care allows 21 days to use for the year from the time at which you initially applied. Your child must also meet the Pediatric Subacute Criteria listed on our Admissions page.

Pediatric Day Health Center Respite & Overnight Services

Scribbles & Giggles Pediatric Day Health Centers offers respite care & overnight services on the 3rd weekend of every month, allowing families and caregivers time to rest and recharge. Respite care begins on Friday and continues through the weekend until 3PM on Sunday.

In order to be eligble for the respite services provided by Scribbles & Giggles, your child must already be admitted to the Day Health Center and meet the guidelines of the admissions criteria. You can find the Scribbles & Giggles Admissions Criteria on our Admissions page.
